In Memory of Mr Chuck

Pee Wee sailors and Mr Chuck 2007

This page is a living memorial of Chuck Parry, the founder and director of the Rock Hall Yacht Club Sailing School.  Chuck instilled a love of sailing and the Chesapeake Bay in hundreds of kids and adults over the years.  We will miss him dearly.

  1. I’m going to miss Chuck alot, he was the only one who knew how to tighten my sprit all the way on Lil’One (an opti) so that it would stay. He also witnessed my first win ever in a regatta and my celebrating backflip out of the boat. He also taught me everything I know about sailing, and I am going to miss having him yell at me, Eli and Mat when we horsed around 🙂

  2. He was so patient and always knew just how to help a bump on the head from the boom.

    • Lily,
As one of Mr. Chuck’s kids and sailing buddies I can tell you personally that he knew how to deal with “boom bumps” so well because he had MANY of them!

I miss him too and thank you for your kind words and remembrances.

      Vanessa

  3. There was nothing Mr. Chuck loved more than kids and sailing. He was so proud to see nervous “landlubbers” become confident sailors. He firmly believed that all the lessons learned in sailing school will serve you well throughout your lives. Keep up the good work, kids – and know that he is watching you with a critical eye – and keep trying to do a little better each time.

    “Mrs. Chuck”
